The Air and Space Association dedicates to foster appreciation and interest in the exploration of space, either by NASA or the private sector. Students meet to discuss current events and trends in space exploration and aviation. The club also exposes students to past endeavors such as the Apollo Program and the Space Shuttle Program, and to vintage aircraft. Space exploration websites, DVDs and movies are used to facilitate the meetings. On Educational Tour Day, students have visited the U.S.S. Intrepid and the Cradle of Aviation Museum. The patch displayed was designed by students four years ago and was fabricated by an artist who has designed patched for NASA. Students also walk away with enlightened perspectives on the expenditures and benefits of aviation and space exploration. The Cathedral Prep Air and Space Association meets monthly.
