Week 7 (11/7/2017)

Although they stayed strong and played with great hearts, Varsity suffered a second loss to LaSalle in as many weeks. Mike Murphy (’18) bowled a new personal high.

Week 5 (10/24/2017)

The Crusaders scored a win this week, sweeping their series. Joseph Krug bowled a new personal high.

Week 4 (10/17/2017)

Varsity fell to a strong Holy Cross team this week.

Week 3 (10/10/2017)

Varsity won yesterday, sweeping St. Francis Prep. League personal high for Donal Harnett (161).

Week 2 (10/3/2017)

The Varsity Bowling team beat The Mary Louis Academy in week 2. Peter Brancale, Donal Harnett, and Kyle Sumprer each scored league personal highs with scores of 123, 143 and 200, respectively.

Week 1 (9/26/2017)

Varsity bowling began the season with a loss to Christ the King. This year’s teams saw some bowlers move from Junior Varsity to Varsity: junior Peter Brancale and seniors Donal Harnett, and Michael Murphy moved up from J.V. to join fellow seniors Joe Krug and Kyle Sumprer, while newcomer junior Jin Woo joined the team.

Team High bowler for varsity was Sumprer with a score of 149.

2016-2017 Season Recap

Cathedral’s 2016-17 JV bowling team, infused with some talented freshmen, took a run at the playoffs, while Varsity saw the graduation of three seniors who bowled together since freshman year. Junior Varsity placed third in their division, losing to LaSalle, who eventually won the CHSAA JV Championships, in the first round of playoffs. The Varsity team said goodbye to graduating seniors David B., Adrian G., and Christopher K.


High average awards for the season went to Adrian G. (Varsity) and Griffin L. (JV). Most improved went to Matthew S., and MVP/Good sportsman went to Kyle S.

Crusader Bowling Update 

On October 28th, varsity lose but saw personal records from Adrian Grzybowski (160) and Edward Whitmore (133). The Varsity  team is hopefully for a playoff birth. The leadership of Coach Glusak and Assistant Coach Mercaldi has made them confident in their skills and ready to make a playoff push this winter. Keep up the great work!
