Tuesday, June 9, 2015

The Thomas R. Moran, Sr., ’75, Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Junior Timothy Sullivan, ’16 at the conclusion of Mass. Susan Moran, joined by her family, presented Timothy the scholarship for 2015-2016.

Additionally, three prior recipients of the scholarship attended the Mass and reception at Cathedral:  Ryan Quinn, ’13, William Tarrant, ’14, and Mark Boodrum, ’15.

Named in memory of alumnus Thomas Moran, and established by his family to honor his love for Cathedral Prep, this academic scholarship is awarded to a promising Cathedral Prep student entering his fourth year of studies who is seriously discerning a vocation to the priesthood. Each year, the family of the late Thomas Moran, ’75, gathers at Cathedral to celebrate the life and legacy of Tom.

The student honored by the Moran family has to be a man of service to the Cathedral community as well as the greater area.  This year the family granted the award to a deserving student, Timothy Sullivan, ’16.

After Mass, the Moran family, Sullivan family, Cathedral administration, and past scholarship award honorees shared a meal together in the student leadership room.
