SPRING 2017 VARSITY BASEBALL RECAP

Looking forward to the upcoming 2018 season after a tough 2017 season. Team played well, but lost some tough close games. We graduated six key members of last year’s squad (Michael Bode, Jose Velazquez, Benjamin Balcarcel, Ben Edwards, Connell Friel, Daniel Dugan), so our 2018 Club will be young and given many opportunities to contribute to our success. Even though our team is young, we are looking forward to a competitive season.

SPRING 2016 VARSITY BASEBALL RECAP

In 2017, the Crusaders baseball team will look to make the playoffs for a 3rd consecutive year.  After strong performances last season from recent graduates Lenny Lynaugh, ‘16 and A.J. Santagata, ‘16, the team will look to improve on their early playoff exit a year ago.  In 2016, after a rocky 0-5 start , the team continued to work hard and bounced back to rattle off 5 straight wins.  During that 5 game win streak, the team beat Lasalle (2-1) and St. John’s Prep twice.  The Crusaders finished in 4th place with a 6-8 record before being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.  The Crusaders will have to continue to improve on the baseball diamond as they will have a youth-filled team in the upcoming years.  This year’s team will rely on Seniors, Jose Valazquez, and Michael Bode, to provide leadership and experience on the field this season.
